Amazing story of hope. Natalie Portman is incredible individual. No Celebrity done so much to reach to others with practical help, no charities… This video makes me filled with hope. The Country should be so proud of people like her. Wish her attitude will be more contagious!
What an incredible story.
Amo a Natalie Portman y sus labores por la sociedad, es mas una actriz, es una persona comun y corriente con deseos y ganas de ayudar a los demas… bien por ella….
natalie es la mejor actriz …….
I am hugely encouraged to see that much of this program is doing exactly that, empowering women, leading to a more educated populous.
My main concern is that a wonderful program like this is paired with population planning assistance. Without it, we may be facilitating unsustainable population growth. This could be likened to providing the paint and brushes to paint ourselves into a corner that we can’t get out of.
These comments are not meant to diminish the outstanding work being done.
With my previous post in mind I must speak to the elephant in the room. As we provide help to improverished people we have to keep in mind that if we don’t move toward stabilizing the world’s population we might be providing help that will soon be outstripped by population growth. I would hope we can provide an equal effort in population planning while lifting up people in a program like this. The most effective method of population stabilization is educating and empowering women.
Wonderful. We spend billions on the immigration problem building walls, purchasing surveillance technology and putting aircraft in the air. A supply side approach without much thought to the demand side – why people crossing the border illegally. If a better life is available in their country most prefer to stay. This program hits the nail on the head. I wish we could take part of these billions and spend it like this.
How would I get involved with FINCA, I mean other than donation (which I’ve done). I would like to be further involved, volunteering, something behind the scenes. Is FINCA hiring?
Thank you very much for the wonderful comment!
Microfinancing is much more effective then more traditional charities, its renewable and empowers people and communties rather then humbling them with bucket loads of sympathetic money. What a great cause, great job FINCA
