the whole bailout thing was like putting duct tape over a leak, Obama is just digging the economy into a bigger hole, and I’m afraid it’s that because his overlords tell him to do so. I think a good question to ask is, do we live in a world of nations, or a world of corporations?

@DEMCAD actually with no government at all, BP or something like it would still be adequately defended by whatever their money could buy, so to defeat them (e.g armed force, forced buy-out) you’d have to have more money, or be willing to kill everyone, or be raped by BP. That’s the down-side to capitalism that a lot of libertarians seem unable to explain away, ignore the problem.
hey! BP just announced (Irene Fleming reporting for CBC radio news) that they will use this funnel idea! Seriously, you totally called this. Now they just have to move some super-tankers in place, maybe even unhook any smaller tankers with smaller operations, to tug them in. This is such a big cost and disaster that to not do this, even for the sake of pumping smaller sites to smaller tankers, that’s a huge write-off for everyone on everything

See my idea on my youtube page: drop a concrete “sewer room” pre-form to surround the area and to provide a chimney base using two cranes on tugs; follow that up with interlocking concrete pre-forms rising straight up. This is all highway drainage stuff that is easily attainable and already made.

Obama says that nobody will rest while this catastrophe is going on. Yeaaah well he is going on vacation this weekend. He also decided not to attend the memorial services this weekend. @WhitSpurzon The cold hard facts is that it IS Cheney’s fault. He deregulated the oil industry and allowed them to run amuck and we are suffering the consequences of that right now. I know you conservatives don’t want to admit it, but it is what it is.

When the oil rig was on fire, the fire was shooting in the air acouple hundred feet. You could tell it was under quite a bit of pressure. Alot more than what was being shown leaking under water. Until now, new video showing way more, they just said, it’s not 200k gallons leaking, but 500k-1 million gallons a day!
@TresJolie7 I didn’t vote for B/C either time but I would LOVE to see this administration DO something other than simply pointing the finger back at the previous. At some point this group needs to saddle up and quit whining.

Just so im on record some where. The only people to pay for this will be the citizens of this country who will be gouged with high gas prices and a renamed cap n trade bill. Any fines given will be nothing compared to their profits. Even if put out of business the same executives will be rehired elsewhere.
All about money. Pretty sad. These companies could have developed Solar & Wind a long time ago but were to greedy.
